The logistics industry faces a digitization paradox: the operational processes that most need automation are also the most complex, variable, and deeply embedded in organizational workflows. Traditional software development can address this complexity, but at a cost that puts it out of reach for many mid-size forwarders and 3PLs. Low-code platforms — development environments that enable application building through visual interfaces rather than traditional programming — offer a middle path.

The market for low-code platforms has expanded quickly, growing at a strong double-digit annual rate by most industry estimates. In logistics, adoption is accelerating as companies discover that many of their digitization needs — workflow automation, data capture, approval processes, exception management — do not require the complexity of enterprise software development.
