When a logistics company first invests in business intelligence, the natural instinct is to reach for a household name. Power BI, Tableau, Looker — these platforms dominate the market for good reason. They are powerful, flexible, and backed by massive ecosystems. But flexibility comes at a cost that most freight forwarders only discover after months of painful implementation.

Generic BI tools are designed to work for every industry. They make no assumptions about your data model, your KPIs, or your workflows. That sounds like an advantage until you realize it means you are building everything from scratch. Every dashboard, every metric definition, every data transformation must be created by someone who understands both the tool and the logistics domain.
